UPDATED:

Mechan Media has signed on with PC Studio for the production of videos for their new mobile-app-distributed multimedia series 3:15.

To use their words:

‎3:15 is an all new multimedia series that you experience on a mobile device. Listen as the narrator delivers you into the story, and then the reading is up to you. Once you reach the end, you get to watch a video conclusion. The real challenge? Try not to let the neighbors hear you scream.

Mechan Media will be producing the videos for the first 10 of these stories. The first stories are scheduled for launch on March 15, 2011, and a new story will be released every week. 3:15 will be available on Android and Apple platforms, and later as a book published by Scholastic.

Check back often for updates and announcements about 3:15. Also keep an eye on www.315stories.com frequently, as more info, teasers, easter eggs, and a trailer are on the way.

We are currently casting for 3:15. If you are (or can look) 10 to 18 years old, and would be interested in appearing in one of these videos, please email us at casting (at) mechanmedia.com.

On the night of October 15, 2010, the streets of downtown Walla Walla filled with a mob of zombies. We shot video of the event for the participants and anyone else who may be interested. It was a lot of fun to see so many people turn out for a pointless, but fun event.

While the bulk of the attendees showed up as fairly traditional zombies, we also saw human zombie advocates, zombie hunters, specific zombie characters from games and movies, and zombie versions of other characters such as Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer.

The material seen here is the raw material from the camera, so please forgive the darkness, graininess, and color balance of the material. We wanted to get the video posted while it was still relevant, and so did a very quick cut.

The music is an original piece created by Ryan.

Mechan Media was not in any way affiliated with the event, we just knew it was happening and wanted to film it to share with people.

We haven’t had much to post over the last little while, mostly because the projects we’ve been working on are ones we don’t have the rights to post.

In the last couple months, we’ve worked on a few projects, including:

Shooting an interview and B-roll for Virginia Mason Medical Center

Shooting interviews, B-roll, and additional material for UW TV at a local winery

Assisting with the pre-production for the video portion of the third installment on Patrick Carman’s Skeleton Creek book series.

A 3 camera shoot for a wedding in California, for which a video will be posted in our portfolio soon.

We have a few more projects on the horizon, are working on plans for assembling some stock footage libraries to sell and give away, and are transitioning to a new camera platform. We’ve also just signed on with Comcast Spotlight to shoot commercials for them in the La Grande, OR and Baker, OR markets on a regular basis, which we look forward to.

Check back from time to time. We plan to have another piece or two added to our online portfolio soon, as well as news about other projects we’ve got going on.

A fundraising video produced for EWB WWU from material shot when we accompanied them on a trip to Honduras.

Mechan Media had the opportunity to travel to Honduras for two weeks with the Walla Walla University chapter of Engineers Without Borders to document the trip with photos and video.

This fundraising video was produced with a portion of that material and debuted as the main presentation at the EWB-WWU Hope for Honduras Spring Gala 2010. The event raised $16,000 while the goal was $15,000.

In addition to the material seen here, interviews were conducted with the locals in Luis Garcia. These interviews and additional footage were collected with the intent of providing enough material to make it possible to create a documentary about the community at a later date.

Mechan Media was also brought on again in September to re-cut this video down for a shorter version to be shown in presentations with tighter time requirements.
