Alex R English

Producer, Business Manager

I began working with video in high school and have enjoyed working with it ever since.

I started college as an engineering major, then added communications and ended up finishing communications first because I enjoyed working with media so much. I graduated from Walla Walla University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication Media, and plan to return to finish the remaining courses for my BSE in Computer Engineering.

With the combination of Engineering and Communications, I feel I am uniquely suited to handling many of the challenges that can arise during the course of a production. Outside of production, my enjoyment of spreadsheets and gantt charts is particularly useful in managing budgets, schedules, and resources. While on-site, I enjoy finding fast, economical solutions to problems of all types.

Four years working as a director in a live news broadcast environment taught me a great deal about delegation, getting things done efficiently, and about working with people effectively.

Throughout my education, I spent a great deal of my free time (and the time that wasn’t supposed to be free) working on various short films and media projects, both for festivals and competitions, and for the enjoyment of the work. While my classes were a vital part of my education, I learned a great deal from these many projects.
