This was a production filmed in 2008 for La Sierra University in Jordan at Tall al-​​Umayri, along with a documentary of the dig.  This particular video was produced as a visual aid for volunteers and new archaeologists planning on excavating in Jordan.  It was shot at the dig site with one of the volunteer professors, Dr. Lloyd Willis, explaining the sifting process.

A total of 10 instructional videos, including this one were produced to create a series. They were created in a modular fashion so instructors can select the videos they feel are most appropriate or useful for their audience.  We’ve posted another video from this series on the subject of rock breaking.
