Ripple is an experimental art film made by Mechan Media member Alex English for a class in 2007.  It was inspired by a Hyundai commercial called “Boxes” aired not long before and was an exercise in a new type of story, ridiculously detailed pre-​​production planning, and compositing and visual effects.

The film is about three times longer than it should have been to be entertaining.  Becuase of the level of detail that went into planning how it all fit together though, and because the timing of elements didn’t work if the film was cut down, there wasn’t much that could be done about the pacing while still making the deadline for the class.  Lesson Learned.

It was still a fun and very educational project.
